Level Five: Bachelors Degree and/or teaching credential
Entry criteria:
Admission to an accredited bachelors degree or teaching credential
program. Some bachelor’s degrees include preparation for a
credential and some do not. Stand-alone credential programs require
completion of a bachelor’s degree before admission.
Exit requirements:
Completion of all requirements for the degree or credential program,
typically a minimum of 120 semester credits. Advisor guidance ensures
that students take only applicable coursework.
Positions in the Early Childhood at this level:
Kindergarten & Primary teachers, Preschool teachers, Training
coordinators, Educational Consultants in child care, Early Interventionists,
Family Service Coordinators, Child Care Administrators. Public school
teaching requires a teaching credential but many other early childhood
positions do not.
