Alaska SEED System for Early Education Development

Professional Development Framework

Level Requirements

Level Three: Child Development Associate (CDA)

Entry criteria:

Completion of levels one and two

Exit requirements:

Completion of 60 additional clock hours of approved Early Childhood Education
(workshops, seminars)

OR

remaining college credits required for CDA preparation.

AND

And 480 clock hours of direct experience working in a classroom setting.

AND

Successful completion of CDA assessment process

Positions in the Early Childhood at this level

This level may include early childhood education teacher assistants, Early Intervention/Infant Learning paraprofessionals, and out of school care providers.
