Alaska SEED System for Early Education Development

Professional Development Framework

Level Requirements

Level Two: 60 hours of training

Level 2 is approximately the half-way point to achieving a CDA.

Entry criteria:

A GED or High School Diploma and the desire to work in the field of early care and education.

Completion of level one.

Exit requirements:

Complete an additional 40 training hours within the 13 functional areas, listed in the Core Knowledge/Content Standards.

OR

Complete an additional 3 Early Childhood Education courses applicable to the CDA competencies at a college or university.

Positions in the Early Childhood at this level

This level may include teacher assistants , family and group home child care providers, or a group home aides, Early Intervention/Infant Learning paraprofessionals, out of school care providers.
