Level Requirements

Level One: Overview

Entry criteria:

A GED or High School Diploma and the desire to work in the field of early care and education.

Exit requirements:

Completion of level one requires 20 hours of training, “The Overview” from a registered trainer.

OR

Completion of an approved, 1-credit entry level course in Early Childhood Education at a college or university.

Positions in the Early Childhood at this level

This level may include early childhood education teacher assistants, family and group home child care providers, Early Intervention/Infant Learning program paraprofessionals, out of school care providers.
