Level Requirements

Welcome to Alaska's System for Early Education Development (SEED) Early Childhood Professional Development Framework web site. Whether you are embarking on a career in Early Childhood or you are a seasoned veteran of Early Childhood seeking to increase your career skills toward a Doctorate Degree, this site will guide you through Alaska's Professional Development system.

Here's all you do: select the Level that best describes where you are professionally at this point in time. Once you enter the level you will find information on the criteria for entry, how many clock hours and/or credits you will be expected to achieve while at this level, the type of positions offered in Early Childhood at this level, and what the recommended requirements are when exiting this level. We also have sources of additional information at your fingertips as a resource. Within the levels there is a category for specific Core Knowledge Content Standards. These standards define the skills needed to demonstrate competence and are aligned with either the current Child Development Associates Credential Standards or with the National Association for the Education of Young Children Standards for Early Childhood Professional Preparation. Maneuvering around these sites is easy, fun and may offer you an opportunity to view a wide range of career choices in Alaska's Early Childhood Career field.
